Common causes of toothache are usually quite serious so if you find you are experiencing a lot of pain in one or more of your teeth, it is definitely time to see your dentist! It can be caused by cracks or fractures in a tooth, decay, general tooth sensitivity or grinding/clenching your teeth.

If the pain is bearable or you are unable to receive treatment immediately there are a range of options to relieve some of your pain before you can get to your dentist.
- Using Panadol or Nurofen as directed
- Give your teeth a thorough but gentle brush and flosh, use sensitive toothpaste particularly if you are suffering from sensitivity.
- Use a cold compress on the area
- Dissolve some table salt into warm water and rinse your mouth with it regularly.
